Midland Quilters Guild 20254 Quilt Show to Feature Renowned Quilter Muff Fregia
MIDLAND, TX — The Midland Quilters Guild 2025 Quilt Show, set for October 3 and 4, 2025, at the Bush Convention Center, 105 N. Main, Midland, Texas, proudly announces Muff Fregia as the featured quilter for this year’s event. Known for her innovative art quilting and use of vibrant color and pattern, Fregia brings decades of quilting expertise and creativity to the show.
Muff Fregia began her quilting journey in 1985, inspired by a unique design challenge to create a quilt to adorn a curved wall. With no prior experience, she crafted her first quilt by hand using wool and curved seams, a complex technique for a beginner. Over the years, her passion evolved from traditional hand-quilted designs to dynamic art quilts that incorporate unusual materials and hand-dyed fabrics. Utilizing an Invova longarm, Fregia creates original pieces fueled by her love of color and pattern, drawing inspiration from fellow quilters, art groups, and painting classes.
Fregia’s work has earned recognition in prestigious venues, including the Houston Quilt Show, AQS shows, Road to California, and numerous galleries and exhibitions through the Studio Art Quilters Association (SAQA). Her art often reflects unique themes, such as an aerial view of drilling sites in the Permian Basin, showcasing her deep connection to the region and its landscapes. “My biggest honor so far has been to be selected as the Featured Quilter for the MQG 2025 quilt show!” said Fregia.
The MQG’s Quilt Show invites quilters and art enthusiasts from across the region to explore a diverse range of quilts, attend demonstrations, and celebrate the rich tradition of quilting.
